A Fabulous Afternoon Celebrating 75 Years of HHA!

A fabulous time was had by the fifty or so neighbors who gathered on the Green to celebrate 75 years of the HHA (and 25 years of the DRB!) on Sunday, Oct 15.

The event was conceived as an opportunity for the HHA to entertain and connect with our neighbors — that goal was met, and then some.

HHA President Tara Stephenson produced gorgeous photographs of early Hollywoodland, which were displayed on the windows of the Beachwood Market.

Other board members and volunteers provided snacks and sweets, and Alex Papalexis graciously provided lemonade and iced tea for the crowd.

Jean Clyde Mason displayed her 1936 MGA, and we even had a band!

The event was also an opportunity to honor architect Michael Mekeel for his tireless work to defend the Specific Plan. Michael lives on Rodgerton, and serves on the DRB. We are lucky to count him a neighbor.

We at the HHA work hard to maintain a sense of community in Hollywoodland, and to protect our community interests with the city.  We so appreciate all the residents who came out on Sunday to share the afternoon with us. We need your support, and we hope you know you have ours.
