(____)MATT BROWN, an East Coast transplant, is a current HHA board member who is a writer/filmmaker in television and features. 2 years ago Matt, having been drawn by its creative community, moved to Hollywoodland, but was shocked at the overwhelming number of visitors into the neighborhood and the unsafe conditions. He responded by spending hours going door to door on Beachwood Drive in order to organize the street and gather petitions. Matt was also invited and is serving on “the working group’ started by the Councilman’s office that is addressing problems in our neighborhood with such solutions as the PPD’s. Matt, a relatively new arrival, has added a fresh perspective and respected point of view to issues and has quickly become a familiar face to residents. He wants to restore and experience the quiet and peaceful Hollywoodland that until now he has only heard about.

(____)ALEX CHAVEZ is the current President of the Hollywoodland Homeowner’s Association. He was elected by the board in February 2013. In 2010 he also served on the Board drafting recommendations for possible solutions to safety concerns related to tourism in our area on the Traffic and Safety Committee. He was also instrumental in producing the independent area-wide Petition of over 400 Residents that showed the City Council that Hollywoodland, The Dells, Lake Hollywood Estates are unified in their desire for protection and improved quality of life in the community. Alex is interested in bringing his leadership skills to continue the efforts of the neighborhood to preserve and maintain the historic characteristics of Hollywoodland.

(____)CHIP CLEMENTS has lived in Hollywoodland for more than 20 years, first as a resident of upper Hollyridge and for the past 14 years as a resident of Mulholland Hwy. He has worked as a producer/director/writer in documentary/magazine TV and now freelances for corporate and non-profit clients. His primary interest in joining the HHA board at the beginning of 2013 was in re-uniting the Hollywoodland community after the previous year’s divisions over dealing with the ever-increasing non-resident traffic on our crowded neighborhood streets. He served as Public Safety Chair throughout 2013, working with the councilman’s office and adjacent neighborhood associations to make Hollywoodland a safer community.

(____)CROSBY DOE, realtor, is founder of Crosby Doe Associates, www.ArchitectureForSale.com and Architecture For Sale Quarterly, the magazine. A co-founder of the community group, Save The Hollywoodland Specific Plan, Crosby has been instrumental in the funding and subsequent filing of major lawsuits that have successfully prevailed in protecting the Hollywoodland Specific Plan. An architectural preservationist and fine art and artifact collector, Crosby has lived happily in Hollywoodland for 32 years at Capo di Monte c. 1927 with his wife of 35 years, Linda, and their two Seal Point Siamese show cats Grand Premiere Azalea and Grand Premiere Camellia.

(____)STACY HERKERT has worked in the entertainment industry and lived in Hollywoodland for almost 20 years. She would like to see the HHA continue to tackle controversial issues such as tourism and traffic and how it relates to the safety of homeowners. In addition, she is interested in establishing a better working relationship with City Councilman Tom LaBonge’s office and the Department of Building & Safety in order to actively enforce the current zoning laws and monitor the approval and development of new spec home construction.

(____)DON KRIM with his husband, David, is a long time homeowner on Mulholland Hwy and currently a singer by profession. He has served over a 5 year period as Treasurer, Chair and Past Chair of the North American Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique; Chair of the International Affiliated Societies of same; and for 2 years served as Chair of 32 Tenant in Common investor/owners of a large commercial real estate building in downtown Hollywood. Don has worked on a variety of projects with both the Beachwood Canyon Neighborhood Association unofficially and with the Hollywoodland Homeowner’s Association as the recently appointed Bylaws Committee Chair.

(____)CHRIS O’BRIEN and her family have lived in Hollywoodland since 1980. Past service to the community included: developing the Hollywoodland specific plan 1987- 1992, designating the historic walls and stairs (#535)1992, serving on the Hollywoodland DRB and serving on a previous HHA board as president. “My goals for 2014 and 2015 are to support and work on homeowner issues relating to quality of life and property values. Specifically, I will continue to work with the Hollywoodland Specific Plan, historic preservation, retention of R-1 zoning codes and protection of our Hollywoodland park land and its environs. Because safety and protecting the sensitive Eco system in the Hollywoodland park land are components of our quality of life and land values, I support closing the illegal trailhead, gravel lot and vista point. I feel the board should revisit eliminating or reducing the public access to the Hollywoodland Park land through Mulholland and Deronda Drives.”

(____)LYNN SHEPODD was born and raised in Los Angeles and moved with her family to Hollywoodland in 1958. Lynn is a third-generation Realtor® at Sotheby’s International Realty. She lives on Belden, with her partner Ann and their standard poodles, in the home where Lynn spent much of her childhood.

(____)TARA STEPHENSON-FONG has lived in her Hollywoodland home for 20 years but was born and raised here. “I, currently, work as a Set Decorator for the Entertainment industry and have been honored with four Emmy Nominations during my career as well as owning Hollywood Studio Gallery, an art gallery that caters to the needs of the entertainment industry. My father, Edward Stephenson, bought his 1920’s Hollywoodland home in the 50’s from the original owner and was passionate about the neighborhood and its historic background. The passion that he felt for Hollywoodland was instilled in me, and I hope to maintain and improve this neighborhood. Some of my concerns are safety within our neighborhood, the disrepair of our overused streets, the influx of heavy traffic that compromises our neighborhood, as well as to maintain the Specific Plan and the history of Hollywoodland. I hope that we can work together to make positive changes or maintain what is working here in Hollywoodland for the future of community. ”

(____)LOUIS TARANTINO is a life-long Southern California resident and documentary film-maker. He has lived in one of Hollywoodland’s hot spots, Upper Deronda Dr, for over 3 years. He is committed to keeping Hollywoodland a great place to live. He has served on the HHA board for the last four months.

(____)JIM VAN DUSEN and his wife have lived in Hollywoodland for 20 years. “I served on the HHA board for this last term and am currently the HHA Treasurer. My goals have been to help solve the safety issues, enhance our quality of life and protect our unique neighborhood. I have pursued these goals through my actions with the HHA board and by participating on the Hollywoodland Design Review Board, supporting the Hollywoodland Specific Plan and the Hollywood United Neighborhood Council as the Beachwood Canyon representative. My central focus has been to do all that is possible to protect and preserve Hollywoodland’s uniqueness and to seek all possible resources in support of that uniqueness. I have appeared before Los Angeles city departments and the City Council in support of controls to protect Hollywoodland and currently serve on a working committee of hillside organizations working with the City Councilman to come up with solutions to the safety and quality of life issues currently facing us. I would appreciate the opportunity to serve on the upcoming HHA board as we continue to pursue these goals. ”
