Major Hollywood Projects
There are several major projects that will affect Hollywood and Hollywoodland:
The Hollywood Center Project at the Capitol Records building area.
This is an extraordinarily large mixed-use development. The Department of Planning Hearing is scheduled for August 26, 2020.

The Champion Real Estate Company project at 1750 N. Vine Street and 1746 N. Ivar Avenue.
It is a large mixed-use development that is planned to be in construction at the same time as the Hollywood Center Project across the street. Its public hearing is scheduled for August 19. 2020.
Neither project’s final Environmental Impact Report has been issued for public review as of the scheduling of these hearings and various groups including the neighborhood council are protesting the scheduling as a result, requesting time extensions to review the EIR’s before the city’s hearings.
Of interest is the planned conversion of the Rite Aide on Franklin Avenue and Western Avenue to a Bristol Farms grocery store to be named Lazy Acres. It is currently under review by the Department of Planning and the neighborhood council has sent in their letter of conditions regarding it. A side effect has been the discovery that the dry cleaners on the property once was a studio of the artist Corita Kent who was a nun at the Immaculate Heart High School in the 1960’s and produced serigraphs that have been widely distributed.
