this weekend merits its own page <– click READ THE REST button to click that link . . . while the City workers experience themselves as helping (they report when they drive through that ‘all is well’) they do not know two things: 1.) they do not know what it was like here five years ago before this comedy of errors and 2.) they do not know what it is like when things go wrong. Here are some things that “go wrong.”
- trespassing after hours – Citizens emerging from their walk in the park admit other citizens who face a locked gate and want to get in for their romp in the dark. This has even occurred under the noses of the Guards
- 2-3-4 cars trying for their turn-arounds where Hollyridge meets Beachwood once they realize they cannot drive up there. Today one lost part of a bumper.
- crowds sitting, walking, stopping, eating, hooting, hollaring right under the windows of the last two houses that border on the ad-hoc, informal entrance to the Hollywoodland Gifted Park portion of Griffith Park
- sad images provided by residents of the erosion that has taken place in this section of the park
- litter, litter everywhere
- Defiant smokers – some agree to snuff it out, while others express their “right” to smoke – and to smoke what they please.
- Last week an 18 wheeler took off the top of a wall adjacent the entrance at the top of Beachwood.
- Taggers tagged the stanchions up on The Vista
- Selfish Selfie-takers stop and park on the red-painted curves to snap photos.
