“When are you going to come to your senses, wake up and shut this down as a tourist destination?” Listen to 68 year resident Hollywoodlander Diana Knolls speak at The City Council’s Arts, Entertainment, Parks, & River Committee Meeting.
“We, in Hollywoodland have for years and years (in various meetings and hearings) expressed our outrage and concerns at turning Hollywoodland into a tourist destination that it was never intended to be.
But the powers that be seem determined to ignore us, discount us , disregard us and disrespect us and our our concerns into turning the place we live in and own property into a future ZOO. Instead of shutting the whole thing down you stubbornly seem determined to move forward on some of these ridiculous recommendations offered up in the Dixon report for example: turning small narrow windy streets into one way streets that would created worse congestion on the other small, narrow , windy streets or running large buses up Beachwood Drive like it’s Main Street Disneyland, USA or this ridiculous bulb out on lower Beachwood that would create more chaos and confusion then already exists there.
When are you going to come to your senses, wake up and shut this down as a tourist destination and let us be the residential neighborhood we were meant to be, or is it all about the all mighty tourists dollars that is more important to you then the well being of your constituents, their safety and they neighborhood they live in?”
