Welcome to Hollywoodland Homeowners Association
Founded in 1942, the HHA is a volunteer group representing
single family residential property owners in Hollywoodland.
The Hollywoodland community founded in 1923 is the prime residential focal point of Beachwood Canyon. The first themes hillside development in the USA, the vision behind the design of this community was the European village, with individual houses that blended with nature. The panoramic views of Los Angeles were amplified by the way tracts were divided and by the winding roads cut out of the hills.
The stone entrance gates on Beachwood Drive, built by European stonemasons, were named Historic-Cultural Landmark No 20 by the City of LA in 1963. Hollywoodland, tract 6450 begins at the historic gates, continuing north towards the Hollywood sign and the Main Communication Tower, East to the Bronson caves off Canyon Drive and West to the Lake Hollywood Reservoir.
Hollywoodland is adjacent to Griffith Park and is known for its greenery and rich ecosystem of plants and wildlife. It is also a delicate environment, due to the arid climate of this part of California. As a Significant Ecological Area (SEA), Hollywoodland is also immersed in a very serve hazard fire zone (VSHFZ).
The Hollywoodland Sign, which is perched above the community, was originally an advertisement for the newly minted tract and did not read “Hollywood” until the 1970s.
